Harbhajan Singh – one of the pillars of Indian cricket
The veteran off-spinner hasn’t retired from international cricket, although chances of him breaking into the playing XI are slim. He has been one of the important parts of Indian cricket history without second thoughts. The specialist spinner has the highest second number of wickets in Tests as an off-spinner behind Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
The experienced campaigner is also the second-most successful spinner behind India’s bowling great Anil Kumble. Kumble took 619 wickets in Test cricket. Harbhajan has been a star across all formats of the game. He has taken 417 wickets in 103 Tests, registering 25 five-wicket hauls and 5 ten-wicket hauls to his name. As far as his ODI career is concerned, he took 269 wickets in 236 games.
He took 3 five-wicket hauls in the 50-over format. Coming to the T20I career, he took 25 wickets in 28 games. Apart from his bowling, he has been a pretty decent batsman as well. The veteran has hit 2 centuries and 9 fifties in Test cricket. He scored 2225 runs in Tests, 1237 runs in ODIs.
