Harbhajan Singh excludes India’s experienced player from WTC final
Team India have just started their practice session and they don’t have much time left for preparation. However, Indian captain Virat Kohli in a pre-departure presser told that India and New Zealand are on equal terms as far as conditions in Southampton are concerned.
Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh excluded Team India’s experienced Test player from WTC final. According to the veteran spinner, the selectors might not pick experienced Ishant Sharma in the playing XI.
The Turbanator believes Ishant Sharma may be snubbed at the last minute. According to him, Mohammed Siraj who is literally thriving in confidence may get the chance ahead of Ishant Sharma. Siraj was the top-performer for India in Border Gavaskar Trophy.
He made his Test debut at The Sydney Cricket Ground and went on to pick 13 wickets to his name. Despite playing three Tests in the series, he still went on to finish the tournament as India’s leading wicket-taker.
Harbhajan Picks Siraj over Ishant Sharma
Siraj’s thirst for success might convince the selectors to pick him instead of Ishant Sharma as per Harbhajan. On the other hand, Ishant Sharma is the most capped player having played 101 tests for India. He bagged 303 wickets making him the 6th highest test wicket-taker for Team India.
“You have to look at the present scenario. Siraj’s form, pace and confidence makes him a better choice for this final match. The kind of form he is in the last six months, he looks like a bowler who is hungry for his chances. Ishant has gone through some injuries of late but has been a great servant of Indian cricket no doubt,” said Harbhajan Singh.
