Erling Haaland has become one of the most talked-about players in the world at the moment. With his age and performance, he is destined for greatness. However, the player has humbled himself and doesn’t consider him the best in the world yet. He revealed the players better than him currently and a surprising name has also made the list.
Haaland has taken the world by storm in the past few years. After joining RB Salzburg, the Norwegian started scoring goals for fun, something which he is still maintaining and looks like will be doing for years to come. He has an outrageous tally of close to 1 goal per game since joining the Austrian side.
He is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund where he is continuing what he is best at. In just 53 games, he is only a goal shy of reaching his first milestone of 50 goals at Dortmund. His brilliant form has also attracted interest from clubs across Europe. Although getting him won’t be an easy task.
Dortmund has slammed a price tag of £154 million if any club wants to sign the player this year. Above that, his agent has revealed that a yearly salary of £30 million is required by the player if any club successfully agrees to pay the club’s fee.
Given the current situation everywhere, every club interested in him have slowed down for the moment as spending around £200 million initially can affect the club in many ways if his arrival won’t give the expected result. That doesn’t mean that they will be giving up.
Although the player has an affordable release clause of £75 million that will be activated next year. If the clubs can adjust for 1 more year, they can get him once the clause gets activated.
Erling Haaland doesn’t think he is the best yet
The Norwegian forward is going to be the striker leading the next generation. In fact, he is excellent right now. However, the player says that he has a lot to do before he reaches the top. While everyone considers him to be the best, Haaland considers the 7 strikers who are better than him at the moment.
A few names can be guessed right. Cristiano Ronaldo who is the player set to be succeeded by Erling Haaland according to many is on the top of his list.
The next on the list is his Bundesliga competitor, Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is one of the natural strikers present and his unavailability for Bayern Munich was felt as they were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG.
The remaining players all belong to the Premier League. Manchester City star, Sergio Aguero is obvious. His decade-long dominance as a striker in the Premier League has earned him a spot amongst the elites. Harry Kane has also made the list and it is understandable. He is doing exactly what Haaland is doing for Dortmund, carrying the club on their shoulders.
The Premier League is termed as the toughest league across Europe and making it look easy is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He has been delivering every year for Arsenal despite the club’s slump in form. However, Roberto Firmino’s inclusion has kept us wondering. He has been an important player for Liverpool, but it doesn’t feel if he is better than the goal machine.
The final player is Chelsea’s, Timo Werner. I know exactly how you feel, but remember that he was a completely different player before he changed clubs. Werner was just like Haaland when he played for RB Leipzig. He had guided his club to the Champions League semi-finals last year.
