Gautam Gambhir lashes out at former Indian cricketer for ringing the bell during the first T20I

The Delhi born cricketer was all full of satires due to the ringing of the bell by the former player in the Kolkata T20I played between India and West Indies.

The inaugural match of the T20I series between India and West Indies took place in the Eden Gardens at Kolkata on Sunday. A full house was expected considering the fact that it was a holiday for all the cricket fans out there. The probability didn’t fail as the fans did storm into the stadium in multitudes to cheer up the team and enjoy the match to the fullest.

As a part of the old ritual, CAB invited former cricketer, Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the iconic bell similar to the one in the Lord’s cricket ground in order to inaugurate the match. Everything happened as planned and the proceedings were carried out smoothly. The Indian team didn’t disappoint the fans as well and won the first T20I with ease.

However, this ritual of ringing the bell by Azharuddin didn’t please Gautam Gambhir. We all know Gautam Gambhir to be a pretty straightforward person who presents his views quite clearly and without any trace of fear.  He had recently slammed the AAP for not complying with the targets promised to combat air pollution in Delhi. Mohammad Azharuddin was sentenced with lifetime ban by ICC and BCCI from playing international cricket for being actively involved in spot fixing in 2000. 12 years later Andhra Pradesh High court lifted the ban over him while the same was yet to be done by BCCI and ICC. However, BCCI had given him permission to contest for the presidential post of the Hyderabad Cricket Association earlier this year.

Despite this, the 37 year old Gambhir has highly disliked this particular attitude from the cricket regulatory officials and satirically remarked that the no tolerance policy against the corrupts may have taken a leave since it was a Sunday. Here’s what the left hander tweeted :
