Formula 1 news: Four-time Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel’s future is pretty much confirmed with the Aston Martin F1 team. Team owner Lawrence Stroll has hinted that they have been extremely pleased with the Vettel and the performance the German driver has put forward. They will be looking to work with him in the future.
As the drivers’ market heated up, with a lot of big names moving teams, there were speculations around Vettel’s future. Some rumours suggested that Vettel was ready to put down his gloves and helmet at the end of the season.
However, Aston Martin principal Otmar Szafnauer shut down the rumours as he confirmed that the 34-year-old is not done with the sport and will not be leaving anytime soon. Sebastian’s current contract with Aston Martin runs out at the end of this season.
Vettel, however, does have an option to extend his run with Aston Martin in his clause. He most likely will be staying as he is happy with the team and vice versa. Vettel has been playing a key role in the development of the car over the year.

Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll and his entire team are delighted to have Sebastian on board with them. The former Red Bull star has been a vital part of the team as they look to establish themselves.
As a result, they are firmly determined in retaining Vettel for the future seasons. Stroll was assured of the German’s future with the team. As he was asked about it, “It is our firm intention to continue with him next year and beyond,” he answered.
Lawrence was also asked about Vettel’s ever-growing love for the environment and his outspokenness on the issues he stands for. For instance, his solidarity with the LGBT movement.
Stroll cleared the air as he stated that they have no issues. The subject has nothing to do with Formula 1 and driving. As a result, he stated that they are unconcerned about the same.
What options does Vettel have and how his season fared so far
Technically there are only three open places left. Firstly, one with Bottas at Alfa Romeo and two at Haas. Haas, however, will most likely be going with the rookies Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher as they spent the season working on the future.
Vettel will likely be staying at Aston Martin as this is his safest bet. Sebastian could only end up leaving the team if he decides to retire.
