Vettel gave the Aston Martin team their first Formula 1 podium in Azerbaijan. Another potential podium in Budapest was taken away from the German driver due to technical regulations.

Formula 1 news: Aston Martin satisfied with their F1 comeback

Sebastian Vettel joined forces with Aston Martin for 2021 as it was announced back in 2020 (then Racing Point) when he was still driving for Ferrari. The German, currently in his 15th Formula 1 season currently sits 12th in the Drivers’ Championship with 35 points.

Vettel expressed his willingness to race as the new regulations take place. The 34-year-old added that the races will be exciting for the fans as well as the drivers. He also added that he believes in the team and they have been growing exponentially.

Lance Stroll joined forces with the Racing Point team back in 2019, when Lawrence Stroll decided to invest in the Force India team which was facing financial troubles. Lance, since then has been able to stand on the podium twice, both times in 2020.

The Canadian said, “Next season I will be embarking on my sixth year in Formula 1, alongside my teammate Sebastian and I greatly look forward to continuing the journey with him next year. Aston Martin’s 2021 season so far

As the Otmar Szafnauer led team, was put under scrutiny in 2020 for copying the Silver Arrows’ 2019 body, the strategy failed to work for 2021. Sebastian Vettel finished P15 at the season opener in Bahrain.

The four-time World Champion has only been able to score points in 4 out of the 14 races this season. However, his performance has been better than last season with Ferrari. Sebastian was forced to retire out of the Silverstone GP and was disqualified from the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Lance Stroll, however, had a much better start to the season as the 22-year-old was able to score a point in Bahrain. Stroll has been able to score points in 7 out of 14 races. However, he has not been able to break the mid-table rankings.
