Nawab of Najafgarh heaps praises over the men in blue, giving important tips for their upcoming important venture at the same time.
The Indian tour of England may have ended on a bitter note with the visitors suffering a smashing 1-4 defeat.
However the fighting spirit of the men in blue certainly gave the impression of they being the best side till date in foreign soil. The inconsistency in delivery of performance was the root cause of such a result.
India had produced many opportunities throughout the course of the test series with their attacking performance. But they failed to convert them into victory.
The hosts bowled brilliantly restricting the hosts to give them a meagre total. However the untimely collapse of batting order towards the end made it seem 193 as a mammoth target too.
Similar story was seen to be recapitulated in the Southampton test too where the visitors could manage to put up only 184 runs, falling short by only 60 runs.
However they made a brilliant comeback in the third test at Nottingham clinching the match by 203 runs because of the skipper’s immense contribution with the bat in both innings.
Theremaining two matches never saw India even closer to victory.Although the late fight put up by Rahul and Pant, induced some hope of a record chase, but their collapse brought down a massacre yet again.
The upcoming mission in this year’s calendar is the tour to Australia which is highly crucial. There they are scheduled to play 3 T20s , 4 test matches and 3 odi’s.
Former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag took to Twitter and congratulated the England team for their test series victory.
At the same time he also heaped praises over the men in blue saying that they were high spirited yet not consistent enough to go over the line. He didn’t forget to mention the important contributions of Pant, Rahul, Kohli and the bowlers though.Keeping this long program in view, he believes that India needs to buckle up accordingly giving their cent percent dedication, committment, hardwork without any scope for flaws. He calls out to the team to toil harder than ever and bring back the lost glory again.
“Congratulations England on the 4-1 series win. India were good in patches, but not consistent enough with the bat. Pant & Rahul’s display on last day was very heartening, so were Kohli’s & the bowlers consistency throughout .Need to work a lot to travel better.Ab MissionAustralia.”
India will have to carefully analyze the areas where they have been lacking which resulted in their defeat albeit putting on a smashing performance. The opponents this time is going to be the Aussies who cannot be taken lightly at any cost. Greater efforts and supremacy in all departments are needed to register a much needed victory over the kangaroos.
