Former Chelsea player makes admission where he wants to end his career

Oscar was a celebrated signing for Chelsea in 2012. The 29-year old attacking midfielder is still thriving for ambitious wins on the ground even he considered himself an expired option from mainstream football.

The Brazilian is the icon of the Chinese Super League after he signed for Shanghai SIPG in 2017. The luxurious league outfit of CSL made him the real ambassador of the game in the globe. He covered three islands by playing in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Oscar is a handy option in the midfield. He can take multiple roles in the formation. But he is ideal in the attacking midfielder role behind the centre-forward. He was a crucial figure in the midfield of the Blues in his five-year career.

The player completed his contract in 2017 in West London and said ‘yes’ to the jackpot offer from China. Playing out of Europe is considered as the final destinations for the star players of Europe. Most of the players prefer these options as the retirement plans.

Major Soccer League and Chinese Super League had such an impression in Europe and Latin America. But, Oscar’s switch to China at the age of 26 stunned the football world and China got attraction from the elite football society.

Argentine striker Carlos Tevez was another big name accompanied Oscar to China. Tevez signed for CSL side Shanghai Shenhua in the same window of 2017. This Latin American pair boosted the market value of CSL and attracted more eyes to the Asian soil.

Oscar on his desire to play for Chelsea again

Oscar featured 131 games in Chelsea shirt in his early career. He scored 21 goals and contributed to 24. Speaking to talkSPORT, the player revealed his love for Chelsea.

“It’s a dream for me. I have good times before at Chelsea. It helped me a lot to improve. “Chelsea don’t like too many older players. But I’ll try my best to be fit,” he opened up regarding his retirement plans. (TALKsport)

Oscar’s Chinese contract ends in 2024. His Career in Shanghai is going well as the Brazilian is still active with the ball in the midfield. A spell back in West London would be possible if the situation allows.

Many of the star players went out of Europe and returned with the same glory. Oscar’s case would be different as he wanted his West London home to host his retirement party. Also, the financial outlook of the Chinese club won’t allow him to leave for a decent fee. It will cost a lot to bring Oscar back to London.

Thomas Tuchel’s young squad is keeping a good profile in England as the season status is decent for them. Oscar’s wish doesn’t match the current prospects of Chelsea. The transfer speculations got plenty of proposals for the summer in West London.

The race for a top-four position in the league table is getting extra pace and Chelsea put forward a serious statement in the competition. They are one point ahead of the fifth-placed Everton. The Monday fixture against Carlo Ancelotti’s side would be crucial for Chelsea.
