Five best moments in the FIFA World Cup history

#4 Dennis Bergkamp’s volley against Argentina

Many remember Dennis Bergkamp for his exploits with Arsenal during the historic ‘invincible’ season in the Premier League in 2004. But much before that, the Dutch international thrust himself into the limelight with this piece of magic.

The Netherlands were rank outsiders in the 1998 World Cup but achieved a respectable 4th place finish. The memorable campaign also saw them beat big-hitters Argentina in the quarter-finals, all thanks to that impeccable volley by the forward.

Latching onto a long pass inside the area, Bergkamp evaded his marker with a cheeky skill and unleashed a fearsome howitzer into the top corner from a tight angle in the last minute of normal time to seal their passage to the last 4.

The former Arsenal great has had many incredible goals to his credit, but none better than this amazing volley.
