The football season of 2020/21 is coming to an end with the Europa League final coming closer day by day. Manchester United are set to take on Villarreal in the final for the trophy. The Red Devils reached the final by beating AS Roma in the semi-final by an aggregate score of 8-5.
While Unai Emery managed to get one back against his former club Arsenal. The yellow submarines defeated Arsenal in the semi-finals by an aggregate score of 2-1. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer it will be a chance to win some silverware at the club. He has managed to build a good team but he is yet to win anything.
As for Unai Emery, he would like to answer his critics, by winning the trophy with Villareal. He won the trophy three times with Sevilla but failed to win it with Arsenal. Thus, by winning the trophy, he can show that the Gunners were unable to perform under him rather than vice versa.
Analysis: Manchester United vs Villarreal
Unai Emery’s side narrowly managed to enter the finals. In the second leg at the Emirates, Arsenal created some chances but failed to score any. However, he would not want a similar situation against the Red Devils.
It is likely that Manchester United will try to take the game to the Spanish side. While Villarreal will sit back and defend deep in numbers. They will look to create chances for themselves on the counter-attacks.
Set pieces will be crucial in this game as both the teams would just want to score regardless of which players score for them. Villereal should also be wary of the Red Devils penalty threat. Their players have often managed to win penalties for their team which has helped them a lot.
When and Where?
Manchester United and Villarreal will play in the Europa League final at PGE Arena Gdansk on 27th May 2021 at 12:30 AM (IST).

Head to Head: Manchester United vs Villarreal
The two times have faced each other four times and all four games ended in goalless draws. This will be their fifth meeting.
With Unai Emery’s side sitting deep, the Red Devils will need Fernandes to wave his magic and open their defence. It will be difficult for the Portuguese will be able to do that but he is capable of creating chances for them.
The former Arsenal man will be paired with the experienced head of Dani Parejo. However, the latter is not as defensive as him. Thus there will be added responsibility on him to keep Pogba and Fernandes in check to stop them from running the game.
12th Man Prediction: Manchester United 2 vs Villarreal 1
With Maguire likely to miss the game, the Red Devils will be defensively vulnerable. However, they have enough firepower to win this game. The likes of Rashford, Greenwood, and Cavani can score goals for them.
