Italy vs England: The fantastic tournament of Euro 2020 is coming to an end with Italy taking on England in the final of the tournament. The Three Lions were expected to do well this time they were one of the favourites. However, Italy has surprised many considering that a few years ago they could not even qualify for the World Cup.
All of this won’t matter as both teams will eye the big trophy. For the Italians, it will be a redemption for their recent failures on the big stage. It sends out a signal that they are still a force to reckon with. While for England it will bring an end to a 55-years wait for a major trophy.
Not only this a victory in the final will also give both the coaches Roberto Mancini and Gareth Southgate a return on the investment they have made on their national team projects. Both of them came in to get the best out of the squad available to them and so far both of them have very well.
Italy vs England Euro 2020 final match will take place on 12th July, Monday at 12:30 AM IST. Euro 2020 final match will live stream on Sony Liv and Jio TV (Sony Ten 2) in India.
Analysis: Italy vs England
The game might not turn out to be a very entertaining one as both teams would prefer to be more conservative in their approach. This is because the foundation of their success has been the defensive sturdiness. Though both of them have also managed to make a comeback after being a goal down but largely they have relied upon the defensive solidness.
This would mean that both teams would prefer to sit back and hit on the counter. There will be more space and the opposition defenders would be more vulnerable. However, preferences don’t necessarily mean that both the teams will be able to do what they want. Italy are likely to attack down the left channel as Maguire lacks pace. Even if Immobile goes body to body he won’t be able to much harm.
Berardi or Chiesa could come in more and more to attack him. While England would want to see Mason Mount and Harry Kane drop deep but the Italians already play with a midfield three. This will make it difficult for Gareth Southgate’s men to find Sterling or Saka making runs in behind. England will have to rely more on individual excellence in order to win this one.
When and Where?
Italy and England will lock horns at Wembley Stadium in the Euro 2020 final at 12:30 AM (IST) on 12.07.2021.

Predicted Line Up: Jordan Pickford; Kyle Walker, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Luke Shaw; Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips; Mason Mount, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling; Harry Kane.
Head to Head: Italy vs England
The two teams have faced each other 27 times. Italy has won 11 times, England has won 8 times and the rest of the 8 games have ended in a draw.
The Chelsea man will see Harry Kane and Mount drop deep constantly. If he is able to create pressure on them then they will find it hard to find Sterling or Saka. Not only this it will be up to him to bypass the defensive duo of Rice and Phillips with Mount also putting pressure on him.
Harry Kane- England
The Three Lions have heavily relied on Kane to get the goals in this tournament. If the experienced duo of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini is able to stop them then England will be in trouble. Though they have other players but except Sterling, none of them have been really given a chance to shine.
12thMan Prediction: Italy 2-1 England
It has been the history of England to fall short at the final step. It could happen again against the Italians who have the habit of rising up to the occasion. Also tactically they look strong compared to the Three Lions.
