In football, some fixtures often bring back memories of previous games between the two sides. England vs Germany is one such game. For the Three Lions, it brings back the memory of the 2010 World Cup game in the round of 16.
Germany thrashed England 4-1, however, during the game there was a Frank Lampard goal that was disallowed when the game was 1-1. There was no goal-line technology at that time thus the goal wasn’t allowed.
Now both the countries will take on each other in the Round of 16 but this time it is the Euro 2020. England again have a team filled with excellent players like in 2010 but they are not convincing. While Germany find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they are not the favourites for the game.
Analysis: England vs Germany
Though the Three Lions are the favourites but they can’t underestimate Die Mannschaft. Joachim Löw’s side really turned up the heat against Portugal and displayed what they are capable of.
However, the midfield is the area where Gareth Southgate’s side hold the advantage. Germany often plays Kroos and Gündoğan in the midfield. While both of them are excellent technically but they lack the pace and a defensive mindset. England’s plan will be to press them hard and win the ball early.
With Germany’s three defenders backing off, England can always call upon someone like Mount or Foden to provide an extra man on the counter-attack. Joachim Low will be hopeful that Thomas Muller can drop deep and link up with Kroos and Gundogan to open up the Three Lions.

12th Man Prediction
England 1 vs Germany 0.
The Three Lions have Harry Kane up front who won’t need many chances and Germany are yet to keep a clean sheet in the tournament. Also with Maguire’s return, they can physically bully German’s forward as they don’t have a recognised No.9.
