English Giants Receive Transfer Boost From Real Madrid Regarding Superstar’s Transfer

Manchester United have received a small boost from Real Madrid over David De Gea’s transfer after stating that they would like to continue with current shot-stopper Keylor Navas.

The Los Blancos have made it very clear that David De Gea has been their prime target for quite a few seasons and this time it has not been any different. The Spanish number one has always been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu as the La Liga giants are eager to secure his services regardless of the asking price.

Navas David De Gea Real Madrid

A move back to their native is never far-fetched for any superstar and De Gea is considered one of the best keepers in the world. The 27-year-old has established himself at Manchester United and grown from strength to strength which is why he has been in high demand at the Spanish capital over the past few seasons. A deal which involved a swap between Navas and De Gea back in 2015 fell through in the last second and the two keepers remained at their respective clubs.

Despite winning two Champions League titles and one La Liga title over the past two seasons Madrid is still keen on bolstering their squad further after a disastrous campaign so far. The La Liga holders currently sit in fourth place on the Spanish table but Zinedine Zidane has always backed his keeper Keylor Navas which has allowed Madrid president Fiorentino Perez to speak highly of the 31-year-old shot-stopper.

Perez On Navas-

Recently, Navas was inducted as an honorary member at Madrid’s Ramon Mendoza supporters’ group where he praised the veteran star between the sticks, “The fact that this supporters’ group has named Keylor Navas as an honorary member is a great gesture. Keylor, you have won the love and affection of everyone in Madrid. You have done that through talent, professionalism and by your comportment; because you have identified with Real Madrid’s values.”

Perez also indicated that Navas could remain at the Santiago Bernabeu for a long long time, “We are very proud to have you as our goalkeeper, regardless of what others might say. Keep working hard and I’m sure that you will be with us for many years to come.” he added.

Author’s Take-

I think that this was just an honor for Keylor Navas and his contribution for Real Madrid so far this season. But Madrid’s main priority is always David De Gea, they will soon be looking at new options in the summer if Navas is unable to perform at his best over a consistent period.
