English Assistant Manager Reveals Chelsea’s Main Problem

Former Manchester City star Stuart Pearce has claimed that he believes Chelsea are missing a few ingredients this season.

The Blues have not had a very fruitful campaign this season and are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League, facing a tough battle to finish in the top 4 which means no Champions League football for next season. Chelsea has come under heavy scrutiny from their loyal fan base as well as famous football pundits after Antonio Conte clinched the Premier League title in his first season at Chelsea.  The Italian manager has also been pressurized about his job with rumors floating around the club that he could be sacked at the end of this term.

Chelsea can salvage their season to save some blushes as they reached the final of the FA Cup last night beating Southampton. The West London outfit will now face fierce rivals Manchester United in order to win some silverware before the season ends. But former English legend Stuart Pearce believes that there are some ingredients that Chelsea is missing which has caused such a tumultuous season which saw them dumped out of the League Cup by Arsenal and Champions League by Barcelona.

Stuart Pearce Seems To Have Identified Chelsea’s Issues-

The West Ham assistant manager spoke to Sky Sports regarding the former Premier League champions and also put Conte’s future at the club in jeopardy, “Is Conte going to stay? We are unsure about that.”

Pearce went on to add that Chelsea is still a formidable unit but are missing some pieces of the jigsaw, “They are an outstanding side. They play a formation they know and that had won them the league. They were just down on the Chelsea of last year. There was an ingredient missing”, explained the 55-year-old.

Author’s Take-

I think that Pearce is right but Chelsea are missing the right players in the proper roles at the club. They also lost some key players and the new arrivals have found it difficult to adapt n the English League.
