Mesut Ozil delivers a message to Arsenal’s fan after he acknowledged he’s been left out.
Arsenal German Midfielder has sent a message to the his fans after his Gunners career hit rock bottom when it was announced that he will not be travelling to BATE Borisov for the Europa League.
The German midfielder was confirmed fit by the north London club before the travelling squad was announced, but was not included and will not be flying to Belarus for the Europa League and has now missed as many games as he has played this season.
He was named on the bench for Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City, in which they were beaten 3-1, and was left out of the squad for the win over Huddersfield. In latter match the German was ruled out with a heel injury, but was confirmed fit by Arsenal to play in the Europa League.
It is therefore surprising to see the £350,000-a-week player not named in the squad. Ozil took to Twitter shortly after the announcement to post pictures of him in training at Arsenal’s London Colney base on Wednesday. Alongside the pictures the German wrote: “Today’s winning team. Training fun.”
He also included hashtags for “team spirit” and “we are the Arsenal.”
As expected the tweet didn’t go down too well with fans confused as to why Ozil will not be part of the squad for their clash with BATE Borisov.
Mesut Ozil has fallen down the pecking order at an alarming rate under Unai Emery this season, and has not turned out for the Emirates club since January. The player is only spotted on the pitch while training and could be seen missing in recent clashes. It is difficult to see a way back for the highest paid player of Arsenal under Unai Emery.
