Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has been in the limelight for his many controversial comments in 2019. Now the BCCI has adopted a strict attitude regarding this matter. BCCI has removed Manjrekar from the commentary panel. After Manjrekar was removed from the commentary panel, CSK took a dig at Manjrekar.
CSK lashed out at Manjrekar
“Need not hear the audio feed in bits and pieces anymore.”
BCCI removed Sanjay Manjrekar from the commentary panel due to his controversial comments. In such a situation, the IPL franchise CSK has shared a tweet on Manjrekar without directly naming him. CSK wrote, “Need not hear the audio feed in bits and pieces anymore.”. In fact, during the ICC World Cup 2019, Manjrekar called Team India’s Ravindra Jadeja as improvisational. Now CSK will tighten their stance because Jadeja plays for CSK in IPL.
In the ICC World Cup 2019, Indian Captain Virat Kohli did not pick Ravindra Jadeja in a single league match. On this, Manjrekar gave a controversial statement saying that,
“I do not want to see a player who performs in bits and pieces. Do not like players who perform in installments like Jadeja is performing in ODIs nowadays. I would like either the batsman or the bowler.”
However, after this statement, Jadeja first lashed out at Manjrekar on Twitter and then stopped speaking to Manjrekar after playing a 77-run stormy inning in the semifinal match. Let me tell you, not only Jadeja, but Manjrekar had also commented on senior commentator Harsha Bhogle. Moreover, he even indirectly took a dig saying that Harsha Bhogle has not played any cricket. As a result of these statements, BCCI took their decision.
Sanjay Manjrekar retired from his cricket career in 1996. Since then, he was part of the commentary panel in all the World cups and major ICC tournaments. Now the BCCI did not make him a part of the commentary panel in the one-day series against South Africa. So fans believe Manjrekar will also not be part of the commentary panel of the IPL.
