Apart from Manchester United, arch-rivals and defending English Premier League winners, Manchester City, are also interested in signing the Portuguese sensation who has already impressed one and all.
Manchester United and Manchester City have found Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves, who currently plies his trade for Wolverhampton Wanderers, as their No.1 transfer target in the January transfer window. The young Portuguese midfielder who joined the Wolves last summer has been impressive.
Last season, he had a crucial and decisive role in Wolverhampton’s journey. The team eventually earned a promotion to the English Premier League. Ruben Neves impress everyone and had a slew of offers on the table, but decided to continue with Wolves.
But, Wolverhampton will find it difficult to keep their star midfielder in the January transfer window. Pep Guardiola has reportedly made Neves a must-sign target. Whereas, Mourinho also wants to see the player play for Manchester United. Renowned football agent Mendes represents both Mourinho and Neves.

Neves recently penned down a new deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers which would see him play for the Wolves until 2023. If Manchester United or Manchester City aim to lure away his services in the January transfer window, they will at least have to spend €60 million, his release clause.
This season, he has already impressed the fans in the games his team have already played. Wolverhampton Wanderers boast a brilliant and talented squad. The fact that they held defending champions Manchester City 1-1 itself stands as a testament to the newly-promoted side.
While the fact that he did not earn a place in Portugal’s squad that participated in the FIFA World Cup, we just can’t overlook his performance for the Wolves last season. He has been playing magnificently, to say the least. This season, he has just resumed where he left last season.
At just 21, he still has a decade left in his prime footballing career. He is destined for greatness and if he keeps developing on the same level as he does now, there is no doubt that this man from Portugal will become a greater player, if not the greatest player.
