Analysis: Chelsea vs Leicester City

The Blues are the team that is in the need of a victory more than the Foxes. Brendon Rodgers men’s morale is high after the FA Cup victory. Even if they are able to get a point from this game, they will be in a better position than Chelsea. Thus it is likely that Leicester City will prefer to sit back and defend in big numbers.

If the Foxes decide to use this tactic, the Blues could be in trouble. They haven’t been able to score a goal in 180 minutes of football. Thomas Tuchel’s men have struggled to open teams up when they sit back. Not only this they have conceded goals in their previous three games due to defensive errors as well.

Leicester City will force Chelsea to go out wide and overload on a particular side. It will be up to the Blue’s creative players to beat that overload and find space to attack the ball. If they are unable to beat this overload they will constantly lose possession and the Foxes will find routes to counter attacks.
