The current European Champions Chelsea have been dealt with a major transfer blow after Romelu Lukaku’s move is canceled out. The London club has been linked with the former Manchester United striker after a sensational season with Inter Milan.
Romelu Lukaku under Antonio Conte won the Serie A this season and was fantastic. According to rumors, Thomas Tuchel was extremely interested in bringing back Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea.
However, it looks like that won’t be happening. The Belgian international has ruled out a move out of Inter Milan amidst growing interest from Chelsea. He reiterated that he’s happy to stay at Inter Milan.
Hence it looks like Thomas Tuchel and the company will have to look for s new striker option. It is extremely clear that for the club getting a reliable striker is of the utmost importance if they want to compete for the Premier League next season.
There have been a number of options linked with Chelsea. Harry Kane is leaving Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season. In an unlikely manner, the Spurs star has been associated with Chelsea. But that is a very long shot.
We take a look at the three other targets Chelsea have for their striker position. Other than these three Chelsea also have their eyes set on Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Three Strikers Chelsea can target after Lukaku failure
The first striker that Chelsea can target is Andre Silva. Silva is currently playing for German club Eintracht Frankfurt. The Portuguese international has been in terrific form this season and is attracting attention from clubs like FC Barcelona.
He has netted 28 goals in 32 appearances for the club this season. However, with FC Barcelona signing up Sergio Aguero, it looks like they won’t go for Silva. This opens up an opportunity for Chelsea.
The second man on the list is none other than Andrea Belloti. Once Belloti was one of the most prolific strikers across Europe after the stellar season he had in 2017. Chelsea had targeted him but instead signed Alvaro Morata then.
Now Bellotti is once again on the market and Chelsea might just be interested. He will be featuring for Roberto Mancini’s side in the Euros this June. He’s targetted by Atalanta as well.
And the last guy needs no introduction. Robert Lewandowski is one of the best in the world right now. The Polish superstar has just broken Gerd Muller’s 40 goal record in a single Bundesliga season.
Thereby it makes no surprise that Chelsea want him in their ranks. But the question arises will Bayern Munich let him go? With the form he is in Munich will be crazy to let him leave. However, rumors suggest that Lewandowski is hungry for a new challenge. And what better place to come than the home of the European Champions?
