Eden Hazard has been the main man for Chelsea for the past few seasons and losing him would be a huge blow to the West Londoners.
Chelsea have had a quite a rollercoaster-like experience in the last few seasons. Winning the title under Jose Mourinho only to finish tenth the next season. Then Antonio Conte lead them to another crown only to drop out of the Champions League places in the succeeding year. Eden Hazard has stood out in all these campaigns dominating opposition defences at will.
Eden Hazard’s statement
“Does Real make me dream less without Zidane?” Hazard told beIN SPORTS. Zidane is someone special, it’s true, but I think Real is everyone’s dream. Zidane or no Zidane, the white jersey [of Madrid] is special but the blue jersey [of Chelsea] suits me well so it does not bother me if I stay. For now, it’s the World Cup. As I have said at least 100 times, I am at Chelsea and for the moment nobody has made me an offer.”
Earlier he had admitted that the Blues need to sort out their managerial situation before talking about his future.“Yeah, I want to know. I want to know, but like I say I am focused on the World Cup. If we have something new – manager or players – it is always good to know it because I want players that can [help bring success back to] Chelsea next season. But to be fair the transfer market is not here [in full flow] yet. We will see after.”

The situation at Chelsea
The relationship between Hazard and Conte became strained some time ago, prompting concerns that the forward will not extend his deal past 2020 unless a change is made. Sacking Conte could cost Chelsea up to £9million as the Italian is refusing to quit with one year remaining on his contract. But that may be a small price to pay for owner Roman Abramovich if it means convincing Hazard to sign a new £300,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge. Despite the fact the club look set to miss out on Champions League qualification, there remains a hope at Chelsea that Hazard could sign a new contract if Real focus their attention elsewhere.
