Chelsea star says he’s ready to fight for his place in the team.

The Chelsea goalkeeper was dropped to the bench in their last fixture against Leicester City. Kepa has been struggling this season. He has managed to keep just five clean sheets.

Kepa needs to find his form

Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has conceded 43 goals this season will be looking to bounce back. He was replaced by veteran Willy Caballero in their last outing. Many Blues fans have been blaming Kepa for their goal conceding problems.

But Kepa thinks otherwise. According to a source close to the Spaniard, he thinks it’s their creaky defence that has cost Chelsea. He thinks that he hasn’t been helped out by the Chelsea backline.

Although Willy Caballero didn’t impress in the outing against Leicester City, it is highly likely that he will start the coming games. So it sure will be tough times for the 25-year-old goalkeeper, who needs to regain his spot in the starting eleven.

Kepa falling out of favour with the Chelsea Manager

Frank Lampard, Chelsea’s manager and their all-time top scorer justified his change in front of the press. According to him. “You make decisions every week and every day in this job. No decision is easy.”

He also stated that when it comes to a goalkeeper things were going to get tough. These words only proves that Kepa needs to work hard to regain Frank Lampard’s confidence. The former English midfielder also praised Caballero’s work ethic.

“Willy trains well, he acts well and he played well against Hull last week. I decided to stick with him.”

If things go this way Chelsea will be looking to offload the young goalkeeper this summer. Chelsea acquired Kepa in 2018 for a record 71 million. According to some reports Athletico Bilbao are looking to re-sign Kepa.

Chelsea will be looking for immediate replacements if this were to happen. FC Burnley’s Nick Pope and Crystal Place’s Vjncente Guaiata are currently top priorities for Chelsea. But many Chelsea reporters are convinced that Kepa will only get better. The coming matches will be crucial for both Chelsea and Kepa.

Chelsea’s next Premier League match is against Manchester United on the 17th of February.
