The Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid transfer saga doesn’t seem to end. It seems that the Belgian international has dropped another hint as what the future holds for him.
The player who is wanted by host of other clubs across the European continent, is keen to move back to Madrid. His family is currently living in the Spanish capital, and he feels he does not get enough time to spend with them.
It has already been stated that current manager Antonio Conte is all set to leave the club. It seems that is goalkeeper will also not shy away from expressing what he wants. This could mean that Courtois might also be considering the possibility of an exit from Stamford Bridge in the current transfer window itself.
With this desire to return back to Spain and Real Madrid keen on adding into the current squad, the to and fro rumours have been flowing around for quite some time.
The goalie who is at the World Cup in Russia at present, has once again in a recent interview spoken about his future and these comments could be linking him with a potential exit.
Courtois stated in the interview that he gave, “I’m not going to talk about that now. The only thing I have always said is that after the World Cup I will look at everything.”
“The most important thing for me is my children, and I will make the best decision for me in everything. If I want to go to Madrid? I don’t know, we’ll see.”
Chelsea are keen on retaining their first choice keeper and despite these comments would want to keep hold of him. They have been trying to tie him down to a new deal for quite a while now, though have not found success yet. Things might change in the upcoming days as the club will once again look to push through a deal with their first choice goalie.
Whether that is the case or not only time will determine, but as mentioned by the player in the decision would be taken only after the World Cup is over.
