According to the latest reports, Chelsea pair Antonio Rudiger and Kepa Arrizabalaga were involved in a fight. The pair had clashed during training at Cobham on Sunday. Thomas Tuhcel sent Antonio Rudiger home after the incident.

The events leading to this bust-up come just a day after a shocking 2-5 defeat to West Brom in the Premier League. The German had tackled the Spaniard in training which led to a bit of shoving and pushing between the pair. Initially, Rudiger was sent to the dressing room and later to home.

Both Rudiger and Kepa were not a part of the team that lost to West Brom. The pair was on the bench for Chelsea in that game. Both of them were unused substitutes as well. The defeat meant that other teams now have a chance to close the gap to the Blues.

Liverpool with thier 0-3 victory over Arsenal closed the gap to two points. Tottenham dropped two points with a draw against Newcastle but they also closed the gap to two points. While West Ham now has a chance to be in fourth place if they win against the Wolves on Monday.

Tuchel is happy now because Rudiger has apologized. It is a closed matter now. Both the players and the club as well can now move on from the incident. Even when Frank Lampard was sacked there were rumors that Rudiger was involved in fights with other players.

Allegedly the former Roma defender along with Jorginho and Alonso caused problems in training. Club captain Cesar Azpilicueta is said to have clashed with him as well. However, the Chelsea defender has denied such allegations.

There have been rumors that Azpilicueta and Recce James were also involved in a bust-up after the defeat to West Brom. The Chelsea youngster was partially responsible for leading up to the Baggies’ second goal.

Such incidents are normal in football. Players play with a lot of emotion and passion in training as well. They want to impress the manager to stay in the team or get into the first team.

However, it is important that such incidents don’t lead to another incident. With so many people playing together it is natural that a conflict will arise. The significant thing is how the club deals with this issue.

The incident seems to have been dealt with appropriately by Tuchel. Rudiger has apologized as well and it looks like Kepa is likely to accept the apology. Chelsea will now focus on their next game in the Champions League. The Blues will travel to Porto in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the game.

In this game as well they are the favorites like they were against West Brom. Chelsea fans will be hopeful that there is no repeat of Saturday against the Portuguese. The winner of this quarter-final will take on the winner between Real Madrid and Liverpool in the semi-finals.
