Chelsea are going through a spectacular time in their history again. Ever since the departure of the then-manager Frank Lampard, things have only gotten better. Under Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have reached new heights of achievements.
Under the German, they won their second UEFA Champions League title in history. Though the Blues did not do very well at the Premier League where they narrowly finished at the fourth position. However, the London-based club is looking more strong and focused this season.
The Blues have had a fairly successful transfer window after completing major signings. They desperately wanted a striker and they brought in Romelu Lukaku who is a different player now. They also strengthened their midfield by signing Saul Niguez on loan in the last minute of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea are even off to a flying start in the Premier League after passing the Anfield test. Though a draw is never something to cheer about but if it’s on the soil of Anfield, then it is worth celebrating. However, the club is sitting at fourth position in the Premier League points table.
Chelsea have inserted a buy-back clause on various youngsters:
The Blues have not only seen incomings but they have also sold many players. However, there are still a lot of unwanted players that are inflating the wage bill. But the Blues have managed to at least move out a couple of them which is a plus point.
Nevertheless, this is not the first time that the club have offloaded many players. But Chelsea have done something different this time. They have inserted a buy-back clause in the deals of the players. This is a change of transfer policy from Chelsea.
According to the Mirror, the London-based club inserted the buy-back clause in the deals of Tammy Abraham, Tino Livramento, and Tino Anjorin. And this move has opened the doors for the players to return to their former club.
A cunning move to bring back the talented lads:
Chelsea have played a cunning move by inserting a buy-back clause for these players. The club knows that these are some of the most talented players that they are letting go of. But Chelsea are known to sign many youth players and not many can get into the current Chelsea squad that also won the UEFA Champions League.
For example, Tammy Abraham is a talented striker who has enormous potential. And he managed to show glimpses of that in some matches at Stamford Bridge. However, after signing Romelu Lukaku, Tammy would have gone further down the pecking order.
Hence the move away from Chelsea was necessary for his football development. He moved to AS Roma for £34 million and he has already hit the ground running. The Englishman has scored one goal and provided three assists in just two games.
Chelsea already messed up in the past letting talented but unproven players without a buy-back clause. Similar was the case with Romelu Lukaku who was once part of Chelsea. He was moved away in the past but he came back this season after becoming a far greater player than he was in the past.
But the move had cost nearly £100 million to the Blues. And to avoid any similar situation, Chelsea have inserted a buy-back clause for the outgoing players.
