Chelsea is looking to bring in a new keeper this summer to replace the outgoing Thibaut Courtois, though it seems that they might not be able to sign Oblak or Alisson and might end up signing England number one Jack Butland.
The Blues’ first interest would be to keep hold of the Belgian international if that is possible and are trying their best to get a new deal signed.
However, with the player interested in playing for Real Madrid next season, it seems that an exit from the Bridge is quite imminent and the Londoners might consider just cashing in on him now.
With that being said, the former champions of England were looking to bring in the €100m rated Atletico Madrid star, or if that deal would not happen, £60m AS Roma man Alisson instead.
Real and Liverpool are both interested in acquiring the services of these top players as well and will challenge the Londoners to his signature, with the two clubs offering Champions League football.
This might give them the advantage and it is being suggested that they will win the race to add either of them to their current squad if they are ready to spend big.
If that is the case and Chelsea lose out on their targets, they will have no option but to add the 25-year-old Stoke City man, who will be representing the national team in Russia as the first choice keeper.
Butland is all set to be part of the starting eleven for The Three Lions at the World Cup over former City man Joe Hart, which means that Gareth Southgate has more faith in him and his abilities and this could be a good thing. Though he has not been doing that well for himself at the club level, it could that be that time in his career, when things really take off and he gets the fame and spotlight finally that he deserves.
A move to Stamford Bridge could also be the start of something new, with the 25-year-old goalie still having quite a few years of his career still left and can really turn things around with this opportunity that he has.
