Chelsea and Man Utd targets to sign a new deal including €100m+ release clause

Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested in signing Serie A duo but will face an uphill task as the players are set to sign a new contract.

Elseid Hysaj and Piotr Zielinski of Napoli have been on Premier League club’s shortlist for quite some time now. But the task to sign both the players will be a lot difficult as they are reportedly ready to sign a new contract with a new release clause.

PL clubs want Napoli Duo:

The 24-year-old right-back, Elseid Hysaj, is a long-term target for Jurgen Klopp and also a wanted man at Chelsea and Manchester United. But according to the reports in La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Hysaj is set to sign a new contract with the Naples based club. The contract will double his current release clause of €65m, making life difficult for English clubs.

Hysaj’s teammate, Piotr Zielinski, who scored 2 goals for Napoli in their incredible comeback against AC Milan is one of the most wanted players in Serie A right now. The Polish midfielder also scored against Italy in the recent UEFA Nations League game. According to Il Mattino, Zielinski is also set to sign a new deal with a €100m+ release clause. The deal will include €2.6m per-season wages for the midfielder until 2023.

Zielinski is reportedly wanted by both Manchester City and Liverpool and the Premier League giants could be set for a transfer war in the next transfer window. But Napoli’s decision to increase his release clause will make it difficult for Pep and Klopp to sign the players.

Carlo Ancelotti is eager to keep his best team for his first season at Napoli. The Italian manager hopes to lead the club to the Serie A title after they finished 2nd under Maurizio Sarri last season. After winning first two games in the league, Napoli were thrashed 3-0 by Sampdoria and sit 5th in the table with 6 points. Ancelotti’s men will host Fiorentina in their next league game.

Author’s Take:

Piotr Zielinski and Elseid Hysaj are both quality players and Ancelotti will make it difficult for EPL clubs to sign them. The situation is more difficult for Chelsea as Napoli do not want to sell a single player to Sarri anymore. But Liverpool, United, and City could entertain us with a heated transfer battle for the duo.
