Chelsea and Everton to bid for 20-year-old American Striker

The U.S striker has made a great impact after entering England. According to Eurosport (via Diario AS), Chelsea and Everton are ready to fight each other to land Daryl Dike on a permanent deal. The youngster is currently on a loan deal at Barnsley FC.

Daryl Dike played most of his days at the college team. He started his youth career at Oklahoma FC and later made his debut for his college team, Virginia Cavaliers. During his college days, he also made his senior debut while playing for a second division team known as OKC Energy. He only made 4 appearances for them as he was concentrated on college football.

In 2020, he was selected in the 1st round of the MLS SuperDraft by Orlando City. He made his professional debut as a substitute but scored his first goal when he got his first start in August.

He was gaining the spotlight very fast with his superb performances. Daryl scored 3 goals and assisted 2 that month to grab the MLS Player of the month award. He was also ranked 3rd in the league’s Young Player of the Year award.

Chelsea and Everton are willing to pay for Daryl Dike

He scored 8 goals in his debut season in just 22 outings. Dike was sent out on loan to the EFL side, Barnsley City. He joined Barnsley in February and had a memorable debut to his life in England. Although they lost, Dike played 30 minutes coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup 5th round against Chelsea.

He made his league debut soon, and by the end of that month, he scored his first goal with Barnsley. He has been an important asset to the club and has featured in every game. His current tally stands at 5 goals in 11 games. His club, on the other hand, are 5th in the League.

Chelsea and Everton interested:

Chelsea and Everton are interested in Daryl Dike

Chelsea are having their best after a long time. The appointment of Thomas Tuchel has turned out to be a great move for The Blues. They used to belong alongside Arsenal in the Premier League table, but thanks to the German, they are now in the Champions League zone.

Tuchel was appointed by Chelsea at the end of January after Frank Lampard was not able to change the dynamic of the team. Since his arrival, the club has been enjoying a good set of results.

Thomas Tuchel also became the manager with the best unbeaten start at Chelsea. They are yet to be beaten across all competition. Chelsea also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2012 and will be facing FC Porto.

Everton are also enjoying a good stint in the Premier League. They were in the top-4 for a certain period of time, but have faltered a bit. However, they still have a great chance to get back where they were. They are currently 8th and are 5 points behind 4th place Chelsea, but they have a game in hand.

Chelsea will definitely try to offload Timo Werner and his display for Germany last night summed it up. They have kept Erling Haaland as their top priority, but it can be subject to failure. Daryl Dike has been impressive and he can come in as a cheap alternative for them. Chelsea are interested in him but hasn’t shown much eagerness yet.

Everton has reportedly shown more interest and are will to pay his asking price. Orlando City has tagged him at $20 million with a sell-on fee clause of 20 percent.
