Chelsea is all set to battle with Arsenal in pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen wonder kid Leon Bailey, with both the clubs admitting their interest in the winger.
The Jamaican has been on the radars of European Giants since last year and now it is reported that the Pensioners and the Gunners have entered the battle to sign the prodigy. De Lijt, who is just 20 currently, has been a very crucial player for Leverkusen this season as he appeared 34 times in the Bundesliga this season, 38 times in all competition while scoring twelve and assisting six goals.
According to The Sun, both the London base outfits are interested in signing the Bundesliga prodigy but competition for one of the hottest assets in Europe is quite high. It is said that Italian Giants Roma are also considering making a move for the young winger after they missed out on Malcolm, who made a last minute switch to Catalonian Giants Barcelona.
Bailey is expected to be valued at around £40 Million which according to us should not be a problem for this three clubs. It is said that the new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is keen on adding Bailey to his team roster after being in a phenomenal shape last season. With black clouds surrounding futures of Thiabaut Courtois and Eden Hazard at the club, the Pensioners will be delighted to see a player of this calibre joining their club.

Arsenal and their new boss Unai Emery are looking forward to taste some Champions League football in 2019/20 season and in order to make it happen a player of high calibre such as Bailey is needed at the club. The Gunners have already enjoyed a successful transfer window, moving to tie up deals for Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. And with Bailey’s arrival it would be like icing on the top.
It won’t come as a surprise to anyone if he joins Chelsea or Arsenal as he is looking forward to trying a new challenge abroad and there aren’t any names bigger then Chelsea and Arsenal for now.
What a signing he could be. The Jamaican is well known for his electrifying pace and dribbling skills. Left-footed, frighteningly quick, bedazzling with the ball at his feet, and a liking for cutting is something which resembles him to Bayern Munich superstar Arjen Robben. It would be really exciting to see him donning the blues of Chelsea or the red and whites of the Gunners.
