The 2020-21 season is coming to an end with the Champions League final on the horizon. This time two Premier League teams will take on each other to win the trophy. Chelsea reached the final beating Atletico Madrid, Porto, and Real Madrid. While Manchester City reached the final beating Borussia Mönchengladbach, Dortmund, and PSG.
However, the most significant thing for both teams is that they have reached the final. Thomas Tuhcel will be keen that a repeat of last year does not happen. He was in charge of the PSG team that lost to Bayern Munich in the final. As for Pep Guardiola, he would want to again win the trophy as he did in 2009 and 2011.
It is said to be a battle of two brilliant tactical minds as well. Earlier Guardiola would often get the better of Tuchel in the Bundesliga. However, since his arrival at Chelsea, he had better players and more luck as he has managed to beat Manchester City twice this season.
Analysis: Chelsea vs Manchester City
It is very much clear that the Blues will set up in a 3-4-3 formation. They will press the ball high with a lot of intensity and aggression. The likes of Werner and Pulisic will try to run in behind, City’s high line. While Mason Mount will look to roam around the pitch freely creating overloads on one side and then switching the play.
Without the ball, they will drop deep and they will be very difficult to break. However, the question is how will Pep Guardiola set up his team. He has often done tactical changes that have surprised his opponents. But there have been times when such changes have backfired upon him.
The Citizens have largely used the false nine tactics this season and they have been very successful with that. The basic idea for Manchester City will be to find space, they are likely to find space in the wide areas. It will be up to the players how they are able to use that space to score goals. They must also be various of counterattacks from the Blues.
When and Where?
Chelsea and Manchester City will play the Champions League final at Estádio do Dragão on 30.05.2021 at 12:30 AM.

N’Golo Kante – Chelsea
The Frenchman’s energy will be the key for the Blues. He can use his experience to break City’s play and launch counterattacks. If he is at his best, the Citizens will find it very hard to score against Tuchel’s team.
Ruben Dias – Manchester City
The Portuguese international has been in great form for the Citizens. However, ha hasn’t been able to stop the Blues from scoring in the previous two games. He has to be at his best to stop them from scoring. Also with his physical prowess, he can be a crucial player to score from set-pieces.
