Cesc Fabregas revealed the best five Arsenal player in the Emirates era

Former Arsenal‘s favorite Cesc Fabregas has identified his best five players graced to the famous Emirates Stadium. Monaco midfielder played his stint with Arsenal at Emirates after their move from Highbury in 2005.

Arsenal has many memories and players played at Emirates and Fabregas is one of them. Fabregas joined Arsenal in 2003 from the famous Barcelona academy at the age of 16. Soon he broke into the first-team squad under the management of Arsene Wenger. He played consistently at a high level in the center of midfield with some great Arsenal players.

In 2011 he returned to Barcelona to join Andres Iniesta and Xavi in midfield. These three formed the best midfield partnership the footballing world ever saw, dominating European football and as well as in Spanish National Team.

The 33-year-old midfielder returned to England in 2014, joining Arsenal’s rivals Chelsea. Wenger recently revealed that he decided against signing Fabregas in 2014. Fabregas won the Premier League trophy on his return to London with Chelsea. After enjoying great success with The Blues, Fabregas joined French giants AS Monaco in January 2019.

5. Aaron Ramsey

Former Arsenal midfield playmaker Aaron Ramsey enjoyed great success at Emirates stadium. He joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008 and appeared in 262 league fixtures, scoring 40 goals.

The 29-year-old Welshman was a fan favorite at Emirates Stadium. His best moment with Gunners will be scoring winning goals in both of their FA Cup victories in 2014 and 2017. He ended his 11 years spell at Emirates last season, joined Serie A champions Juventus on a free transfer.

3/4. Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil

Fabregas was unable to decide his third and fourth choice for this list in between Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil. Mesut Ozil remains the only player available at Emirates now on Fabregas’ list.

Ozil arrived at Emirates in 2013 from Real Madrid in a club-record move. He also enjoyed great success at Emirates, sits at third place for all-time assists for Arsenal behind Fabregas and Thierry Henry. He also scored 33 goals in 184 league appearances for the Gunners.

But he has been in the declining phase of his career since signing a new contract of £350,000 a week salary. He has been omitted from Arsenal’s squad for both Premier League and Europa Cup.

Santi Cazorla still remains fans favorite despite leaving Emirates in 2018. He joined Arsenal in 2012 from Villareal, made 129 league appearances, and scored 25 goals in the process. He left Emirates to rejoin Villareal in 2018 and later joined Qatar giants Al Sadd this season. Spanish attacking midfielder was an instant hit at Emirates after he provided 13 assists in his debut season.

2. Alexis Sanchez

Former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez made in top two of Fabregas’ list. Sanchez was consistent with his goalscoring abilities at Emirates since his arrival in 2014 from Barcelona.

The 31-year-old Chilean all-time goal scorer was a fan favorite at Emirates till he joined rivals Manchester United in 2018. He left Emirates after scoring 60 league goals in just 122 appearances. But he failed to recreate his form at United, joined Inter Milan on loan last season and now permanently.

1. Robin Van Persie

Fabregas has named his former team-mate Robin Van Persie at the top of his list. Robin Van Persie remains an Arsenal legend despite joining rivals Manchester United at the peak of his career.

The all-time record goalscorer for the Netherland National team joined Arsenal in 2004 from Feyenoord. During his eight-year spell at Emirates, he scored 96 league goals in just 194 appearances. He also scored a club record 35 goals in the 2011-12 season.
