Besiktas president Fikret Orman is currently in London with a number of club officials, to discuss the details of Domagoj Vida’s move to Arsenal.
According to Turkish Football, Besiktas president and officials are in central London, seemingly over the potential Vida transfer. According to their information, £14-15m could be enough to complete a deal. The Croatian emerges as a genuine possibility for the Gunners after his performance alongside Dejan Lovren at the World Cup saw Croatia making it all the way to the finals before losing to World Cup champions France in a 6 goal encounter.
However according to English publications Evening Standard, Arsenal will bid £26.9m for the Besiktas defender in hope it will be enough to beat off competition from Liverpool. Evening Standard understands that the Gunners are keen on adding yet another defensive star to their squad and there could be no better fit than Vida for them.
It is reported that the Black Eagles have made signing a new goalkeeper and striker their topmost priority this summer. And with Arsenal ready to offload some of their deadwood including Ospina and Welbeck, Vida moving to Emirates can be made possible. Mustafi, Welbeck, Lucas Perez and David Ospina are the players Arsenal are prepared to sell.

Vida, who is currently on a holiday after reaching the World Cup finals with European underdogs Croatia is yet to return to pre-season. The centre-back was also not included in the UEFA Squad list ahead of the Europa League second-round qualifier against B36 Torshavn. All this clearly gives an indication that the defender will be sold.
Vida played a key role for Croatia in the as he took his country to the finals. Let’s see how this transfer saga unfolds.
From heading to Brazil as a backup player to establishing himself as a member of the starting lineup in Russia, it’s been one hell of a journey for Domagoj Vida. The Croat is capable of playing anywhere in the backline from right back to left back, he can do everything. Vida would be another major statement signing for the club as they look to continue their dominance in Europe.
