Paris Saint Germain winger Neymar is reportedly pushing for a move to the Los Blancos this summer but the club will do all they can to keep hold of their talisman.
Neymar joined Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain for a record transfer deal of £198 million last summer from La Liga side Barcelona. However, just less than 12 months into life at the Parc Des Princes Neymar is set to leave the club as he has been disappointed with the competitiveness of the French league.
According to Goal, Neymar wants to return back to the La Liga but to this time to join rivals Real Madrid. The Champions League holders are keen on bringing the Brazilian sensation to the Santiago Bernabeu after Neymar’s agent Pini Zahavi reportedly held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez regarding a transfer to the Spanish capital.
And Zahavi has lined up a move for Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski to replace Neymar at the French capital ever since taking over as the big Pole’s agent. Neymar’s attitude toward his teammates has been questioned as Neymar is back in Brazil nursing a foot injury that kept him out of action for three months.
However, outgoing PSG manager Unai Emery has stated that Neymar would remain at the club and the Parisians have no intention of letting go of their prized asset. The Spanish manager told Cadena SER, “I’m not going to be Neymar’s spokesperson, but I think the next season he is going to stay at PSG. It would be the right thing for the player and for the club,”
But the paradox is that club president Al-Khelaifi told L’Equipe, “Nothing and nobody is bigger than the club, not the coach nor the players. The club is and always will be first, it is bigger. If someone does not accept that and is not happy, then they leave.”
Neymar scored 28 goals in 30 appearances and also notched up 19 assists being outstanding initially for the Parisians before a misfortunate injury cut short his season. PSG won the domestic treble this term.
I doubt that Neymar will leave PSG in the summer because the club values him too much. Even if Real Madrid offer him a massive transfer fee, PSG will not accept it because their major aim is the Champions League trophy.
