The Blues right-back Davide Zappacosta has rubbished any reports of moving away from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
After Chelsea had a rather underwhelming season this campaign in the Premier League the Blues failed to get a top 4 spot. This means that Chelsea will not be playing in the Champions League for next season after failing to qualify for the elite tournament finishing fifth in the Premier League. A number of superstars at the club have been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this summer transfer window because of no Champions League football but one man has decided to pledge his future at the club.
Davide Zappacosta arrived from Italian club arrived from Serie A side Torino last summer in order to add re-enforcements to Antonio Conte’s title-winning side. Zappacosta has added back up to Victor Moses and has been favoured over the Nigerian by his former International manager Antonio Conte. But there was still heavy competition for a starting berth at Stamford Bridge which has linked Zappacosta with a move away from West London.
The 26-year-old defender was linked back with a move to the Italian league and Inter Milan was keen on bringing him to the San Siro after just 12 months at Chelsea. However, Zappacosta put an end to these transfer rumours by stating that he is focused on playing only for Chelsea.
Zappacosta Wants To Remain At Chelsea-
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, the Italian was asked about his future at Chelsea and if he will see out his contract which expires in 2021, “I just want to have a great season, regardless of where I play. Inter? The interest is pleasing but I don’t know anything about it and I’m only thinking of Chelsea.”
I would like to see more of Zappacosta at Chelsea because he has an energy about him and has some great ability on the ball. He may need time to adapt in the Premier League but he did well whenever called upon.
