Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi is close to completing a loan move to the Ligue 1 with AS Monaco
Chelsea continue to sanction departures in the transfer market. The West Londoners are all set to loan out Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Cesc Fabregas has already travelled this route with Spaniard moving to Stade Louis II earlier this week on a permanent deal.
Batshuayi was recalled early from his season-long move to Valencia. The 25-year-old had failed to impress with Los Che and was miserably failing to find the back of the net, scoring just thrice in 23 appearances. Another loan move is now on the cards with Monaco continuously expressing their interest. Sky Sports now claim that a deal is as close to completion as ever.

Monaco is managed by former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry and Les Monegasques are having a difficult season. Currently sitting in the 19th spot, Monaco have lost 3 of their last 4 Ligue 1 matches. Earlier this week, Henry confirmed the club’s interest in Batshuayi, he said:
“Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulder with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting.”
“But again, nothing is done. You have to be patient. It’s important that the players know the championship, though.”
According to Goal, the player’s agent, Messia N’Diaye has arrived in Monaco to hold advanced the talks concerning a transfer to the Ligue 1 outfit. Notable, Batshuayi has experience playing in the French top-flight having turned up for Marseille for two years prior to moving to Chelsea.
Michy Batshuayi’s career has taken a serious dip since moving to Chelsea. Despite a promising debut season, the Belgian has been on the fringes of the first team squad and, should this loan move materialise, Monaco will be the third team he turns up for in a space of 18 months. Batshuayi needs to get his act together and seek a permanent move elsewhere given that neither the Chelsea board nor the boss Maurizio Sarri has enough faith in his abilities.
