Spanish Giants Barcelona are weighing up a move for Bayern Munich starlet Thiago Alcantara, and are looking forward to taking the Spaniard to Camp Nou in the summer.
Catalan Giants Barcelona is weighing up a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara as Blaugrana boss Ernesto Valverde looks forward to the strengthening of his midfield after Andres Iniesta left for Japan and Paulinho joined his former club Guangzhou Evergrande.
The future of Thiago Alcantara at Allianz Arena has been subjected to many speculations in the past couple of months. It is now said that Bavarians are willing to listen to offers for the Spaniard, who has remained quite silent about his future with the German giants.
And now according to Spanish publications Marca, Barça see themselves failing in attempts to sign Adrien Rabiot from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Thiago could be a good alternative for him given that Bavarian’s new manager Niko Kovac is targeting a complete overhaul of his squad and a €60 Million bid would be enough for Bayern Munich to let Thiago go back to Camp Nou.
The 27-year-old followed then Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola to Bayern Munich in 2013. Thiago, who made his professional debut in Blaugrana stripes was seen as one for the future, but owing to a lack of first-team opportunities, he signed with Bayern in 2013. The Spaniard had struggled with injury in Germany, but whenever he has been on the pitch, the midfielder has been solid given the minimal fees Bayern has paid for him.

Rafinha Wants His Brother Back At Camp Nou:
Barcelona star Rafinha Alcantara has claimed that he would love to see his brother Thiago return to Camp Nou from Bayern Munich this summer. Speaking at a press conference with Sergi Roberto prior to Barcelona’s International Champions Cup game against Roma, Rafinha said: “I would like to see Thiago at Barcelona again. I think he would fit in perfectly with the team’s style of play.”
However, according to Marca, there is some concern at Barca around re-signing a player whose loyalty to the club will be under question given that he left Barça to join the Bavarians in 2013. Like if in any case, Barça manages to keep loyalty issues aside, then these moves make some sense. The Catalans need a new midfielder and so far only Arthur Melo has been signed to fill the gaps left by the departure of Paulinho and Andres Iniesta.
And there could be no better choice than Thiago Alcantara. Thiago is a technically brilliant footballer, brilliant with the ball at his feet, boasting an impressive passing range and is also capable of doing defensive duties. The Spaniard could fit back in at the Camp Nou in no time. Let’s see how this transfer saga unfolds.
Thiago Alcantara is someone who can easily replace Andres Iniesta at the Camp Nou. The Spaniard is someone who can always be a scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer, something which Andres Iniesta was known for at the Camp Nou. Thiago – 27, with a star-studded support cast at both club and national level – is more than capable of filling Iniesta’s boot.
Alcantara would be another major statement signing for the club as they look to continue their dominance in Europe.
