Marcus Rashford is set to have a meeting with Manchester United on Tuesday. The meeting is regarding his shoulder surgery that would keep him out of the action for three months.
Marcus Rashford wants the surgery to go ahead as he picked up a muscle tear in his left shoulder last year in November.
Rashford alongside the whole England squad was given a three-week break after the Euro 2020 where United thought that the problem might ease off. It is reported that Rashford will meet Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Tuesday afternoon at Carrington to make his final decision.
Rashford had a scan on his shoulder which proved that the muscle tear can’t get any worse and wants to get rid of the problem once and for all. He had to take painkiller injections to play last season in the Premier League.
Marcus Rashford to miss games for Manchester United
If the reports are true, then the Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford will be out for three months till October. He is determined to reach full fitness for United and England ahead of next year’s World Cup in Qatar.
In that period of three months, he is set to miss a number of games for both his club and country. He will be missing five World Cup qualifiers for England and the first 11 games for his club Manchester United.
But according to the BBC, the preferred surgeon for Rashford’s surgery is not available till the end of this month, which means his recovery time will also be pushed further. He is expected to be back by late October.
United looking to reshuffle their squad
Manchester United is looking to reshuffle their squad and play the best combination in the coming season. They have already signed Jadon Sancho for £73m from Borussia Dortmund.
United has also agreed to a fee of £34m plus add-ons to sign Real Madrid’s center-back Raphael Varane. The Madrid center-back agreed on terms over the weekend and is expected to complete his deal in the coming days. Varane almost played for a decade at the Galacticos.
The Red Devils are also interested in signing Saul Niguez and Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid. Niguez will be the replacement for Paul Pogba, who is in his last year of the contract. Pogba is highly linked with Paris Saint-Germain. Atletico could accept an offer of £45m for Saul Niguez and is asking for £34m for Kieran Trippier.
Manchester United is set to have a new look in their dressing room as the signings have not stopped for them. This year we might see a different team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United’s defensive line looks more and more solid with the signing of Varane. The front attack will surely miss Rashford, but with Sancho coming in, Ole has nothing to fear about. All eyes are now on the signing of Saul Niguez, who will strengthen the midfield area for the Reds.
