With reports linking the Polish striker to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich have already lined-up a replacement in this Juve star if he were to leave
There have been increasing reports of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski departing in the summer. The Pole has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, who attempt to replace either of Karim Benzema or Gareth Bale as the duo’s future looks uncertain.
Should the transfer materialize, the Bundesliga champions have already identified the player who could shoo-in for Lewandowski. Reports suggest Bayern are eyeing Juventus starlet Paulo Dybala as a possible replacement to him in the final third. The former Palermo player has been one of the brightest talents in Serie A. He’s been a regular for the Bianconeris ever since he burst onto the scene in 2015, and has struck another 21 times this season.
Bayern Munich could be in for a potential blow as talks of Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi contacting Los Blancos is floating in the air. The Polish international is believed to have expressed his desire to leave, with Dybala in line to succeed him. The Argentinian is still young but boasts plenty of European experience. When serviced, he’s proved to be a genuine goal-threat, and it’s only a matter of time before he joins Lewandowski’s league.
Dybala is said to be the future star of Argentina; Messi’s heir apparent. It’s these comparisons that make him an attractive prospect, and Bayern are ready to fancy their chances with it.
Dybala is a fine player and would be a great addition to Bayern no less. But questions is, whether Juventus is ready for another star player’s departure. Moreover, he isn’t an out and out striker. He operates as the no.10; attacking midfielder behind the striker, a role currently hammed to the hilt by James Rodriguez. There are surely other options in the strike department to consider.
