Barcelona Ready To Sell This Midfield Superstar Next Summer

Newly crowned La Liga champions Barcelona are now set to let go of midfield superstar Paulinho, at the end of the current campaign, as confirmed by a report from the Don Balon.

The club from Spain signed Philippe Coutinho back in the January transfer window and manager Ernesto Valverde now has a lot of options to play at the center of the pitch. In recent times, Rakitic has taken a more central role for Barcelona, with the former Liverpool man and Ousmane Dembele taking up spots in the wider areas, which has seen the former Tottenham man fall down the pecking order.

Paulinho

The 29 year old superstar who moved to the Nou Camp in 2017 at the start of the new season after a successful couple of seasons with Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou Evergrande, could leave, with the Catalan giants expected to bring in more new stars once the campaign ends.

There is a claim that more top stars could be signed by Barca soon, which would mean that they would need to offload some of their current players. With that being said, the manager might be forced to sell him now though he has made an impressive 47 appearances this term already.

He is a really good player and has contributed to his credit, as and when given the opportunity, though it seems that things will only go from bad to worse for him now and it will be best that he leaves. The club and manager have made their intention quite clear and which club ends up signing him now, will be interesting to see, as he can be an asset to a lot of top sides.

Author’s Take-

If there is no place for the player, it is better that he leaves immediately and joins a club where he can play on a regular basis, rather than keep struggling for game time. With Barcelona winning the Spanish league and failing to make a major impact in the Champions League, they will surely want to bring more additions once the transfer window is open. With that being said, before they bring in more stars they will also need to sell some of the existing ones off, which could mean the end of Paulinho’s stint with his current club.
