Barcelona is still looking for that marquee star and despite signing Philippe Coutinho, it looks like the Catalan giants are chasing after another Premier League star.
The Blues have been a part of their fair share of transfer rumors but none more than the rumors that have linked their Belgium star away from the club. However, the 27-year-old has been in fine form for the Blues and has been a key part of their team since his arrival from LOSC Lille in 2012. However, now it looks like Chelsea are finally going to lose Eden Hazard with rumors of every big European club after the forward.
The 27-year-old has been a vital part of Chelsea’s team since his arrival at the club from LOSC Lille in 2012. Since then, Eden Hazard has made more than 250 appearances for the Blues scoring nearly ninety goals and has even managed to win two Premier League titles, even being named in the PremierLeaguee team of the year on four separate occasions.
Chelsea has failed to agree to a contract renewal with Hazard and he has just two years left on his current existing deal, once the summer window arrives. And with the Blues failing to make Champions League football for this season after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season, combined with Hazard’s World Cup performances, the 27-year-old has become a hot ticket.
However, now according to reports from Calciomercato, Barcelona are willing to offer Chelsea, Ousmane Dembele plus cash for the Belgian international. With Chelsea setting a price-tag of €220 million on Eden Hazard, the former Borussia Dortmund man Ousmane Dembele who arrived last season would push the offer just over Chelsea’s asking price.

But the Frenchman who had to watch as his countrymen won the World Cup final against Croatia, hasn’t been at his very best at the Camp Nou. In what was an injury-plagued first season for the 20-year-old, it looks like Barcelona aren’t willing to give Dembele another chance. But given that the Frenchman wants to start a new chapter in his career, if Barcelona aren’t interested there are more than a few Premier League and even Bundesliga sides who want Ousmane Dembele in their team-sheets.
Eden Hazard is easily one of the top ten, if not the top five best players in the world at the moment, and his return from the World Cup will be key for Chelsea. However, with Real Madrid and Barcelona seriously looking chasing after him, the Blues will have a tough time making a case for him to stay.
Thus they should do everything in their power to try and keep the Belgian international for as long as they can at the club, and maybe new manager Maurizio Sarri can convince him to stay.
