Barcelona star Lionel Messi has remarkably invited a move to the MLS with David Beckham’s Miami franchise ready to be launched.
It has always been said that Lionel Messi will end his career at either Barcelona or his youth team, Newell’s Old Boys. However, the Argentine legend has now touted the MLS as a possible destination in the near future.
David Beckham’s Miami franchise is set to be unveiled and launched and it looks as though Messi is looking for a move to the MLS. The Barcelona superstar took to Instagram to wish Beckham good luck with his new venture. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid legend has revealed that he wishes to bring in star names to Miami and has said that a lot of star players have already contacted him regarding a possible move in the future.

Lionel Messi expects Beckham invitation to Miami
A move doesn’t seem likely to happen for at least the next four years with Messi signing a new deal up to 2021. However, the Argentine national team captain is not entirely against a move away from Camp Nou in the future.
In a video posted on social media through Beckham’s Instagram handle, Messi said, “First of all congratulations. I wanted to wish you all the best in this new project, this new role for you.”
Messi further teased a move to Beckham’s Florida-based side and said,“Who knows, maybe in a few years you can give me a ring.”
A full-fledged transfer to the MLS seems highly unlikely, with Messi’s latest release clause set at £626 million. What also needs to be considered is the public reception of Barcelona fans to another star leaving the club for a record fee. Neymar’s PSG summer transfer left Barcelona fans with a bitter taste and Messi’s sale could do the same.
It is likely that Lionel Messi will make the move to the MLS. It will be a good move for Beckham’s franchise and for US soccer in general. After he has reached his peak and won everything there is, with Barcelona, that is probably when Messi will seriously give it a thought.
