Spanish Champions Barcelona is making some moves in promoting youth into their first team from their prestigious academy La Masia.
Barcelona is looking to form a young team with exciting potential. Most of the star players are in their 30s. Messi celebrated his 33rd birthday last week. Also, midfielders like Vidal, Rakitic, and Busquets are looming over their swansong. Vidal and Rakitic are yet to sign a contract extension. There is a possibility Barcelona is reconstructing their midfield.
The Catalunya outfit has a great youth academy of La Masia. It is constantly delivering youth prospects to the club. Iniesta, Xavi, and Messi are one of the finest names who came through those ranks. The academy is still providing ample talent to the first team.
Ansu Fati and Puig are the recent inclusion into the first team. They are performance is improving day by day. Fati is linking up with the Barca talisman Lionel Messi to rack up goals. He has been consistent with his display on the pitch.
Puig is helping Barcelona in the reconstructing of the midfield. He regains possession and plays the ball around from the midfield. The youngster shows a lot of promise.
Barca fans believe he can become the next Xavi. Puig has nice passing skills and can do the playmaking. His link-ups wit Ansu Fati is eye-catching as both the young prospects team-up.
Barcelona is also trying to bring in young players from other clubs too. Recently the La Liga giants were scouting Rayo Vallecano’s, Fabian Luzzi, as per Marca. Barca also expressed their subtle interests over some highly-rated youngsters. Sandro Tonali and Eduardo Camavinga are some names who are in Barcelona’s shortlist.

However, it is quite evident that the club is avoiding to spend big this summer. The coronavirus pandemic has affected most of the clubs across Europe. Barcelona is one of those clubs that have seen economic lows. Spending cash now is not recommendable for a stature. Swap deals are growing likely but most of them are reaching an impasse.
Barcelona, for now, is relying solely on La Masia for its talent hunt. Konrad de la Fuente is another gem who got promoted to the club’s B team. He was formerly part of the under-19 squad. The young winger has already bagged his first goal for the B team in just 4 appearances. Fuente also possesses playmaking techniques and traits.
