Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona in the next transfer window is all but finalized if the reports are to be believed. But the Catalan duo has requested the board to sign another player instead.
The Catalans have added quite a firepower in their attack since the departure of Neymar. Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann is rumoured to another big money signing for the Catalans. But Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez have urged the board to target Mo Salah instead.
The winger is in sublime form for Liverpool after the Reds signed him for just £36.9m last summer. Egyptian Messi, as he is affectionately called by the fans, has already broken a number of records during his tally of 36 goals in 40 games. Salah’s form has seen him become one of the hottest property in the transfer market.
Salah instead Griezmann?
While Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the player, Barcelona are also in the race. Spanish outlet, Don Balor has reported that Salah’s former teammate Philippe Coutinho has urged the Catalan board to sign the player. The Brazilian has suggested the board to drop their interest in Griezmann to sign Salah.
Coutinho has been backed by another former-Liverpool player, Luis Suarez for the pursuit of the Salah. The Uruguayan striker has reportedly told the officials that he would love to play alongside EPL’s top scorer. Suarez’s support for Salah comes as no surprise as Griezmann will put his position under threat.

But Liverpool fans will be relieved after the Egyptian informed them about his intentions to stay at the Anfield. “I like the Premier League I lot. I feel it has my style of football. I like to play in the Premier League. I said since day one here that I’m happy here at Liverpool and I want to show my football here.” Said the Liverpool superstar.
Mo Salah will be back for Liverpool after his international duties as the Reds prepare to take on Manchester City in Champions League.
Mo Salah has declared that he is willing to stay at the Anfield. But we are not new to such statements in the football world. Everyone knows that European giants will still come for the winger in the summer. And while the addition of Salah will be great for Barcelona, the real question is, where will he play? He is known as Egyptian Messi but that does not mean he can force THE Messi on the bench. In my opinion, Barca will benefit more from Griezmann’s move than Salah.
