The La Liga giants are after this Bianconeri star who’s linked with a move abroad and now find themselves in a two-horse race for his signatures.
El Clasico rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to tussle again this summer. But their latest clash would be off the field and in the transfer market. Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has been linked with a transfer, and the Spanish giants have jumped at the prospect. The former Roma star has been in excellent form for the Old Lady, and both the La Liga giants are looking for a new central midfielder.
The Bosnian has grown into one of the best midfielders, while there few dead-ball specialists that can hold a candle to him. He was integral to the Old Lady’s domestic double this season too.
Now the former Roma midfielder is touted to leave Turin and join one of the ‘big two’ of Spain. Both clubs are apparently interested in his services and ready to engage in a ‘bidding war’ with each other.
Sky Sports reports that the 28-year old would be a replacement if Luka Modric departs in the summer, while French outlet Onze Mondial suggest the Blaugrana ready to table an important offer for him. The Spanish champions are said to be looking for a central midfielder with great control and technique, and Pjanic fits the bill pretty well.
The Merengues, after a poor domestic season, are believed to make their first major signing since 2014 and would pull no punches to bolster the team enough to launch a sustained title assault for next season.
It isn’t common that you find the two La Liga giants bidding for the same player. So Miralem Pjanic, like Neymar in 2013, would be feeling lucky. But in truth, the Bosnian may not move so quickly. Juventus won’t let their star player leave after just 2 seasons into his tenure in Turin.
