English Premier League giants Arsenal are in for a busy transfer season if the reports said are true. Club manager Mikel Arteta along with Arsenal’s technical director Edu are said to be working on wrapping up 6 possible deals.
Arsenal have been struggling this season, which is nothing new. Their struggle started once the legend Arsene Wenger left the club. It has been a rough few years for the Gunners. From playing in the Champions League to playing the Europa League and failing to secure a top-4 spot, they have slipped a long way.
But all is not lost. Well, it shouldn’t be. With Mikel Arteta, the former player managing the club, fans can hope. Although his first year wasn’t that good, it wasn’t bad either. He won the FA Cup in his first year.
This season they had a terrible start and the players are the only ones to blame. But they changed things around in the second half and gained back some ground. They are currently 10th in the Premier League and will be hoping to land a European Cup spot by the end.
NEW ADDITIONS THAT CAN BE EXPECTED FROM ARTETA:
Arsenal will be going for young promising players rather than spent huge money in an already debt-ridden season. Certain areas are safe as they have top-level players dedicated enough.
Defensive worries are the first to be taken care of. With the rumors of Hector Bellerin leaving the club, Arsenal should be prepared with a backup. And they have got the perfect one. Brighton and Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey who has impressed will be the perfect replacement. It will be a huge win if they land the youngster.
Next on the list is RB Leipzig’s centre back, Ibrahima Konate. Ibrahima has shone for the German side this season and has attracted attention from many clubs across Europe. Arsenal are likely to lose a few of their defenders. If that’s the case, they will definitely be going all out for him.
A striker is also on their wish list. They have made a strong inquiry for Scottish side Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard. With the player in the final year of his contract, it will be even affordable for the Gunners.
POSSIBLE PLAYERS LEAVING THE CLUB:
Arsenal will not be having enough funds to buy players as long as they don’t sell any players. There are players who are running out of the contract. There are also players who are unhappy. So an overall 9 players are expected to leave the club depending on the situation.
Midfielder Lucas Torreira who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid is likely to leave the club on a permanent deal. With the addition of Thomas Partey, his role at the club has been decided. Fiorentina are said to be the frontrunners to land him with Arsenal ready to let him go.
Alexandre Lacazette has had a rough patch and has been unable to deliver. Arsenal will not stop him from leaving unless the price is right. They have already enquired about his replacement, Odsonne Edouard.
Hector Bellerin is another player with a high probability of leaving the club. He has been a loyal Gunner but his time at the club is probably up. Arsenal will be making a move for Tariq Lamptey in case he leaves. David Luiz, Calum Chambers, and Dinos Mavropanos are rumored to leave the club. If the rumors turn out to be true, they will have to go for Ibrahima Konate.
