Reports suggest that Arsenal target Steven N’zonzi has now given Sevilla a formal request to leave, as he looks to reunite with new Gunners’ boss Unai Emery at the Emirates.
The Mail has now confirmed that the French defensive midfielder wants to play once again for the Spanish boss. He is now looking to complete a switch to north London, which is why he has asked for permission to leave.
On the other hand, the Gunners are looking to sign more high-quality players in the “post-Wenger era”. It is said Arsenal would be obliged to add the 29 year superstar to their squad this summer.
They ended the previous campaign without a single title and will want to change that in the seasons to come. For that purpose, they will be looking to sign a lot of top targets whom they feel can help them achieve that target.
The player who was previously with Stoke City, has been a long-term target for Arsenal and the club is now looking to bring him in once again.
He was previously wanted by Merseyside outfit Everton. However, the signing of the new Arsenal manager and the star’s desire to be with his young family back in London has urged him to leave the Spanish club and he wishes to join the Londoners now.
Things are really going well for Emery in his first transfer window. The Frenchman has already signed a couple of defenders and will now look to strengthen his midfield as well. He does have the quality to really make an impact, with more potential targets set to come in.
It will be an interesting season for Arsenal, as they look to reclaim a place in the Champions League, along with more silverware under their new manager.
A lot of expectations from the fans will put more pressure on the former PSG boss, though he is quite experienced at the top level to put on a good showing. With that being said, hopefully things go for him as per plan, like it has so far this summer and signing N’zonzi is surely a step in the right direction.
