Arsenal has had a busy few days lately with some possible incoming and outgoing deals moving swiftly towards completion. The Gunners are working hard on certain deals with the new season of the Premier League just weeks away.
Arsenal have held talks with some of their targets and they are desperate to fill in some key positions in the squad. The Gunners finished 8th in the table last season and they are looking to bounce back stronger with no European football next season.
Denis Zakaria wants to leave amid Arsenal interest
According to a report from Daily Mail, Denis Zakaria has reiterated to Borussia Monchengladbach that he wants to leave this summer. Many clubs across Europe are interested in him. Especially Manchester City and Arsenal.
Zakaria is reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League and he will force his way to leave. The Bundesliga club has tried to extend his stay by offering him a new contract, but the 24-year-old feels it is time to move on.
Arsenal are looking at him as a replacement for the outgoing Granit Xhaka. Both Xhaka and Zakaria are teammates in the Switzerland national team. Granit Xhaka is pushing through a move to AS Roma and Gunners have agreed to sell him in this summer.
Arsenal were first looking at Ruben Neves of Wolves for the defensive midfielder position. But ever since the reported interest, the talks have not progressed ahead. Manchester United are known to be ahead in talks with Wolves for Ruben Neves.
Arsenal had a quiet summer till a week ago but now the management is swiftly moving ahead to conclude the deals. The Gunners have completed only two signings so far. They have signed left back Nuno Tavares and midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.
However Arsenal are set to announce Ben White from Brighton later this week. According to a report from The Mail, the defender had completed his medical on Sunday. Now Arsenal are working on announcing the £50 million signing.
Arsenal stunned as Granit Xhaka deal stalled
According to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Granit Xhaka’s supposed move to AS Roma has stalled for the time being. Roma have still not agreed to pay Arsenal’s asking price of £17 million.
Personal terms were already agreed between Granit Xhaka and Roma. But despite some breakthrough between the two clubs in the talks last week. Roma is not yet ready to pay Arsenal’s valuation.
Granit Xhaka has given some phenomenal performances lately. He was already performing for Arsenal late in the last season. He carried the same momentum in to the Euro 2020 tournament. Granit Xhaka’s price should have doubled, but Arsenal’s transfer policy is even struggling to get £17 million for him.
Arsenal are also working on various deals. They are reportedly in talks for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham after deciding to sell Alexandre Lacazette. They are also preparing a fresh offer for Sheffield United Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. It is to be seen how many of those deals will the Gunners be able to complete in the short span of time that is left.
