Alex Iwobi seems to take out the most of new Arsenal manager Unai Emery. The Nigerian has helped Arsenal win a couple of matches this season. Iwobi seems to have sent a message to contract rebel Aaron Ramsey amidst of interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Unai Emery has already raised the bar for Arsenal this season. For the first time in 3 seasons, Arsenal have managed eight consecutive victories. The wins have helped Arsenal reach on points with arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspurs and four points behind leader Manchester City. It seems Unai has also improved Alex Iwobi. It seems this is the breakout season for the Nigerian. Iwobi has helped Arsenal win a couple of matches this season. However, Iwobi has a message for contract rebel Aaron Ramsey.

Alex Iwobi has said he and his team-mates all want Aaron Ramsey to stay at Arsenal. The Welshman is on his final year of contract and according to reports talks between Arsenal and Ramsey over a new deal have aborted. It looks like Ramsey will leave the club next summer for free. He is expected to leave the Emirates after Arsenal withdrew their contract offer but Iwobi is desperate for him to stay.

Iwobi was asked whether he will be a major missing for Arsenal, Iwobi said to BT Sport, “Of course, he’s a great player. Especially when I was breaking into the first-team I always used to watch him and learn things from him. I’m still doing that today. So it would be a great miss if he goes but hopefully, he can stay. We all want him to stay. Hopefully, it can get sorted.”

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger brought Ramsey from Cardiff in 2008. The Welshman since then has made 300 appearances for the Gunners and has scored 58 goals. However under new boss Unai Emery, Ramsey is yet to find his golden touch, He has only 2 assists this season. But that hasn’t faded other clubs interest. The likes of Chelsea, Lazio, Liverpool and Manchester United, all seem interested in signing the 27-year-old midfield player.

Author’s note:

Alex Iwobi’s statement expressed the team’s wish to have Ramsey in the dressing room. However, he hasn’t shone under Unai Emery this season. Given his absurd wage demands and poor performance under Unai. Arsenal look right to not hand Ramsey a new contract.
