Arsenal Legend: This Tottenham Star Is In The Same Bracket As Barcelona Legend

Arsenal Legend Charles Nicholas believes that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is now in the same bracket as Barcelona Talisman Lionel Messi.

Harry Kane has established himself as one of the most lethal strikers in the world and has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season. The Englishmen has scored at least 20 goals in the past four Premier League seasons, including netting 32 so far this campaign.

Harry Kane Has Quickly Developed One Of The Most Lethal Strikers In The World.

The Englishmen has also broken Shearer’s record for most number of goals in Premier League in a calendar year. Shearer scored 36 goals in 42 matches for the Blackburn Rovers in 1995; while Kane finished this calendar year of 2017 with 39 goals in 36 matches for the Tottenham Hotspur.

And there is something more to this, Kane also completed the calendar year of 2017 as the top scorer in entire Europe. He surpassed Lionel Messi for this record who had 54 goals from 63 appearances in 2017 while Kane had 56 goals from 52 games.

Harry Kane’s form has seen the Englishmen linked to the likes of European champions Real Madrid. Speaking before the highly anticipated FA Cup tie, Arsenal legend Charles Nicholas has lauded Harry Kane by saying that he is in the same bracket as Barcelona Superstar Lionel Messi.

Charles Nicholas told Sky Sports: “He could’ve scored three or four last weekend against Arsenal. We’re starting to think is Harry Kane up there with Messi? And he probably is. The reason for that is because it looks so effortless for him. The mix of goals he gets as a number nine is quite remarkable.”

“There’s a desire in him, he goes left, he goes right, he goes through the middle. He just loves scoring goals. He loves agitating people, without provoking the situation.”

Fellow former Arsenal star Paul Mersin also lauded Kane, saying that he would be shocked if Real Madrid doesn’t attempt to sign the Tottenham star. Merson added: “I would be worried if I was Tottenham because of money talks. £200 million, or even £160 million is a lot.

I can’t see how Real Madrid don’t go for him in the summer for £150-200 million. How’s Benzema playing for Real Madrid? He’s not in the same class as Kane. They’re a million points behind Barcelona and they need a new center-forward.”

Author’s Take-

Kane’s lethal form in front of goal has seen him attract interests from a number of top sides. He seems to be the one who has inborn ability to get goals. He is taking European football by storm with his outstanding performances this season. Harry Kane will be back in action on Sunday when Tottenham Hotspur takes on Rochdale in the fifth round of FA Cup.
