Arsenal have not been in great shape lately and are looking for a squad revamp. Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta are hoping to utilise this summer to sign some key players. The Gunners look like they can benefit a signing for all positions. Although that may not be possible, Edu and Arteta are planning to make some key changes in the summer.
The duo are planning to let go of some of their deadweights to make way for fresh recruits. One of the prominent names on their outgoing list is Hector Bellerin. The Spaniard has been a part of the north London side for over a decade now. Bellerin was able to impress Arsenal fans by making huge breakthroughs soon after his arrival at the club.
However, Hector Bellerin looks to be falling behind lately. The right-back was troubled by injuries in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. Since making a return recently, he has not been able to impress his gaffer either. Hence, it seems like his time at Arsenal is nearing an end. There are multiple parties that place interest in him, with Paris Saint-Germain among them.
With Bellerin likely to depart in the summer, Arsenal are looking for an ideal replacement. The Gunners already have their eyes on Norwich City right-back Max Aarons. The English footballer was able to aid Norwich City in promotion back into the Premier League. And has caught the eye of various European clubs in the process.
Max Aarons has been impressive for Norwich City this term. The left-back has been great in defence and has also been good on the attacking front. Aarons has two goals to his name and was also able to set up four more this term. This is an impressive tally for a right-back, and hence has the attention of various clubs.
In addition to Arsenal, clubs like Manchester United, Everton and West Ham are the top admirers of the 21-year-old. However, according to Liverpool Echo, Everton are not planning to pursue Max Aarons. This did make things less complicated for the remaining pursuers. West Ham have been in top form this term and hope to maintain the tide. Hence, they believe signing Max Aarons is a viable option to boost the squad’s strength.
However, Manchester United are also keen to sign the youngster. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had his issues with the defence and is looking to improve it. United already have Aaron Wan-Bissaka to guard their right flanks. However, Wan-Bissaka is not great when it comes to making forward runs and attacking plays. This is where Max Aarons catches the eye of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Max Aarons has been great at making attacking plays and can also defend with quality. Ole is keen to see more action along the flanks and Wan-Bissaka is not great at it. Signing Max Aarons will help Ole add more attacking spirit to the squad while bolstering his defence. However, Arsenal are not planning to lose the player to their PL rival.
Arsenal are planning to make a swoop:
Norwich City are happy with the performance of Max Aarons and will like for him to continue with them. But they are not planning to obstruct the player from leaving if they receive an offer in the £30m area. After securing a return to the Premier League, Norwich understands they need to revamp their squad. Hence, they are willing to make some sacrifices to build a strong squad.
The asking price has been a reason for concern for various clubs. Manchester United are also evaluating the price as a little excessive. However, Arsenal are not willing to withdraw their interest in the youngster. The Gunners are planning to ship Hector Bellerin for a reasonable price. And will use the transfer fee from that deal to fund a move for Max Aarons.
Signing Max Aarons may be one of their best decisions in the summer. As the youngster can provide Arsenal with many plus points. Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta are aware of this and are hoping to make a swoop. They are also planning to make several other changes over the summer.
Arsenal are likely to make a move for Crystal Palace striker Wilfred Zaha as well. But will have to part ways with Alexander Lacazette before that. Arsenal were planning to renew his contract but are reportedly planning to sell him instead. Mikel Arteta and co did not have a great season this term but hope to get back stronger next term.
