Arsenal eyeing a move for Wolves striker Raul Jimenez amidst transfer speculations of club’s captain.

Arsenal hierarchy have reportedly joined a race to sign Wolves striker, Raul Jimenez. The Mexican striker continue s to attract the attention of top clubs with his form at Wolves.

The Gunners have identified the 28-year old striker as a potential replacement of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. Arsenal fears that the club captain is making his way out to Barcelona this month, as per the reports from Spain.

Aubameyang for Arsenal

Arsenal might make an offer for Jiminez if Aubameyang decides to part his way with the club. He is the club’s evergreen scorer in the Premier League having 23 goals under his name. This season as well he accumulated 10 goals to his name.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker is out of contract in 18 months and is in no hurry to sign an extension. Aubameyang is keen on leaving the North Londoners. He wants to rush to a club who can challenge for major honours and substantially holds the power over a potential move.

Out of the whole squad, Aubameyang has had the most shots in his bag than any other teammate, showing his influence in the team.

The Gabon international has 18 months in hands as per the contract and is in no hurry to sign an extension. He is the one who seems frustrated with the direction of the club.

When Nuno Espirito Santo was asked to confirm the rumours linking the forward with United, he ruled out the rumours and said:

Ole didn’t mention anything about that. It’s first time I heard it and Ole didn’t mention anything about that.

As managers, we have to be ready because anything can happen and we are very happy with Raul.”

Jimenez has already secured a hero status in the Black Country but previously mentioned his desire to play in Spain. He admitted that he would be open to any transfer to Spain in the future.
